Tell Tales final trailer for The Walking Dead.
Star Citizen nears $6 million in final hours
The siren song of space has called a record-breaking $5.97 million worth of pledges to Star Citizen, the PC-exclusive creation of Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts. The funding campaign, which runs both on Kickstarter and on the game's site, has drawn more than 85,000 backers and ends at 9 a.m. PST.The last stretch goal for $6 million promises launch with "100 systems, a full orchestral score and a free copy of the first Squadron 42 mission disk, Behind Enemy Lines" (we hope they actually send it out on a compact disc). Squadron 42 is the game's Wing-Commander-ish mode which enlists players in a linear campaign fighting on the cosmic frontier. It's definitely one of the most ambitious crowdfunded games we've seen--its figures right now put it clean past Project Eternity's previous game record of $4 million--and the raised cash will also be used to attract more traditional investors. Star Citizen is currently planned for release in 2014 with a beta beginning sometime next year.
Wow, that's all I really have to say about the support this game has had some day 1.

Assassin Creed 3 bugs to be ironed out for PC version
"would you know if all these patches and what not will be included come the release of the PC version?"
to which UbiGabe responded with:
"So, when PC launches, it will include ALL of the console patches out at the time (so, that includes any patches we might be releasing in between now and PC launch). In addition, PC has a special patch designed to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. We've added extra DX11 support for the PC version, so you'll notice some significant increases in texture resolution (double-res in most cases, but quadruple in some), TESSELLATION (which is like, the new DX11 hotness) and some other shader improvements that will have an impact, but aren't all that sexy to enumerate in a reddit post, hehe."
I for one can not wait for this game to come out on the PC. Haven't played an AC game since AC1 but for some reason AC3 is pulling me in.

"Hitman: Absolution is a mess. The police do not expect Blood Money is involved"
This isn't sounding too good for the fans of Hitman. Tom Francis also talked about the games artstyle, poor story, OD amount of Bloom, small levels, opening doors as an objective, bad AI and no saves (wtf?!?). What's worse is since this is PC Gamer the review was done obviously on a PC and ran like ass running at times at 15 frames per second!
With all of the talk about Hitman: Absolution being so much better on the PC and IO stating that it "won't just be just a port" it bothers me to hear this. I've been looking forward to this game for awhile so I hope IO has a patch ASAP or else they shall fear the wrath of the PC community.

Crytek to make another Crysis, but it won't have a number after it
“[Crysis 3] is the end of the story of Crysis, but it doesn't mean it's the end of the franchise,” he said.
There are a number of details that need to be ironed out, such as which platforms this post-Crysis 3 game will launch on, but Yerli has already decided it won't be called Crysis 4.
“I wouldn't name it Crysis 4 at this stage because it would be misleading,” he explained. “We want to finalise Prophet's story and Crysis 4 would imply the story just moves on.”
Speaking on Free2Play (F2P)
Yerli has been vocal in his prediction that free-to-play will dominate gaming in the coming years. Indeed he has gone on the record to say once Crytek's current obligations are complete, including Crysis 3 and Homefront 2 for THQ, it will only make F2P games.
Yerli confirmed to Eurogamer that Crytek has a plan for a F2P version of Crysis, but it may exist as a traditional retail game/F2P hybrid as the industry transitions to the next-generation of consoles.
"The truth is much more complicated," he said. "There's a transformation period for the industry. I believe F2P is our inevitable future. I believe there are F2P titles out there that can be story-telling, co-operative with your friends and competitive with your friends. It's all possible. The business model is independent from the way you design games. It's a very important thing. People always make these things dependent, but it's actually completely independent.
Microsoft restricts DirectX 11.1 to Windows 8, Say Whaaaa
Daniel Moth has confirmed that the new version of DirectX, DirectX 11.1 will only be available for Windows 8. His post below
"As you figured out WARP is part of DirectX 11. With DirectX 11.1, WARP was enhanced with (among other things) support for DirectCompute and hence it is one of the accelerators for C++ AMP. DirectX 11.1 is part of Windows 8, just like DirectX 11 was part of Windows 7. DirectX 11 was made available for Vista (bing it), but at this point there is no plan for DirectX 11.1 to be made available on Windows 7"
In my opinion I feel MS is doing this so people that would like Stereoscopic 3D support will have no choice but to upgrade even if they don't want to. What you think, leave comments!

Phoenix Benchmarks NVIDIA R310
This week NVIDIA began advertising their new "R310" Linux graphics driver that "delivers [a] massive performance boost to Linux gaming" as a result of Valve releasing their Steam Linux Beta. The NVIDIA 310.xx Linux graphics driver not only improves the performance for Valve's Source Engine games, but many Linux OpenGL games. In this article are benchmarks from three graphics cards to highlight the optimizations.
NVIDIA's 310 Linux driver beta actually came last month with the performance enhancements and multi-threaded OpenGL support, but it wasn't until Tuesday when the Valve beta got underway that NVIDIA issued the press release. Last month I did some early NVIDIA 310 Linux benchmarks and of the threaded OpenGL, support. The 310 driver was faster than earlier series, but the experimental threaded OpenGL support wasn't always delivering better results.
Full benchmark results over at Phronix.
NVIDIA Delivers Massive Performance Boost To Linux Gaming
NVIDIA today announced the latest NVIDIA® GeForce® drivers -- R310 -- double the performance(1) and dramatically reduce game loading times for those gaming on the Linux operating system. The result of almost a year of development by NVIDIA, Valve and other game developers, the new GeForce R310 drivers are designed to give GeForce customers the best possible Linux-based PC gaming experience -- and showcase the enormous potential of the world's biggest open-source operating system.
Available for download at www.geforce.com, the new R310 drivers were also thoroughly tested with Steam for Linux, the extension of Valve's phenomenally popular Steam gaming platform that officially opened to gamers starting today. "With this release, NVIDIA has managed to increase the overall gaming performance under Linux," said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. "NVIDIA took an unquestioned leadership position developing R310 drivers with us and other studios to provide an absolutely unequalled solution for Linux gamers."
The R310 drivers support the newest GeForce GTX 600 series GPUs, which have redefined gaming for desktop and notebook PCs by combining revolutionary performance and gaming technology features with an incredibly power-efficient design. Gamers with previous generation GeForce GPUs, including the 8800 GT and above, are encouraged to download these new drivers as well. For an up-to-date third-party listing of games and applications that are currently in development for Linux, visit the Marlamin site. For more information on how GeForce GTX GPUs are dramatically changing the way games are played and experienced on Linux, visit www.geforce.com. Cypress Hill backup singer "Shagg" loses $250 million law suit
Model and Cypress Hill backup singer Michael "Shagg" Washington was leaning on that fact when he sued Rockstar Games for $250 million in 2010, alleging San Andreas protagonist CJ drew heavily from his life's story and physical appearance without compensation.
The Hollywood Reporter says a California appeals court Wednesday backed up a prior decision that Washington couldn't prove CJ's creation was not covered by publisher Take-Two's transformative use defense. That is, the argument that the First Amendment permits existing materials to be used free and clear if they are altered enough for a new purpose.
Washington was not without ammunition in the case--Rockstar developers did in fact interview him about his history as former gang member in 2003, and he even appeared in San Andreas' credits as talent. But the appeals court wasn't having it, according to its unpublished written decision.

DayZ Build 1.7.3 Rolling Update
This is the first community + development team generated update for the DayZ mod. It is the culmination of a huge amount of work by both the community and the development team. The half-done 1.7.3 patch was made available to the community, who included many of their own fixes and updates. While dogs are "in" there are some mechanics missing so they cannot currently be used. Both myself and Matt spent a significant amount of time playing this today, and it was a lot of fun.
